I was lucky to have my digi with me.

This little icicles are so clear... just like glas.

Crow stencil

Only a very short posting... This is my newest crow stencil! I love stencils... and they are so easy to make. I just took my crow picture, cut away everything except the crow itself and then adjust colour, contrast and brightness and had the base for my stencil. Print and cut it out and there you go!

Have to think what to make with this one! ;)

I love the details you get if you are using your fotos. Like all the ruffled feathers which I can't think of to draw ^^

Owl day! - advent calender

Made out of felt... a lot of sweet little owls. So many people made owl ornaments so I definitly wanted to make my own owls! The pattern is really just basic. Nothing more...

For every advent calender of the four I made this year one owl! Of course one of them is a pink one ^^

I made the eyes out of noghtglowing polymer clay (fimo)!

So they look at you in the dark! ^^

Inspirations: Birds in december

Perfectly hidden...

Next to the fresh white snow.

In germany we have the coldest first days of december since recordkeeping of the weather began! The coldest. Cold means between -10 °C and -20°C. Bah! In november we had a day with +20 °C! Also very unusal... but far better than the cold...!

Pink tentacles - earrings

The beauty of tentacles: Not to be denied ^^

This pink ones are in the pink advent calender today (you would never have guessed, eh? ;) ).

I can't explain to myself why I don't own a whole collection of them in every colour... mh... I always give them away! Just take a search for tentacles and / or fimo (polymer clay) in my blog and you will find a lot of tentacles earrings!

Peacock's feather earring

This was the little present in Lachafas advent calender today. I made the cane for this earrings already last year as well as earrings for her. They lasted until this year and then she lost one. Because she said she needed new ones because they are one of her favorites (you can only lose earrings you are using ^^) I looked whether I had some of the cane left. Yes, I had! I could never make a new cane like this because most of the colours were mixtures of different polymer clays (fimo and prado) and I never ever can remember what went into. The making of the cane was one of my "I can't sleep and get an idea in the middle of the night" actions and in the morning I was suprised of the cane I made ;)

This time no laquer as finish but my first polishing try with my dremel. I only had the felt polishing tool for the dremel so next time I will try the fabric polishing because the felt is more for the last touch and not for really strong polishing... but the feeling of the polished surface is already so smooth and cool under the fingertips! Love it!

You can see I work with my fingers only to create the shape. I like the little irregularities. For other earrings I roll the polymer clay out and use round cutters but for not for the peacock's feather. I think the colours and design would lose the little special touch.

Advent calenders... teasers!

This year four advent calenders (again). As every year a pink one. But this time one only with handmade items. The friend who gets the pink one every year (for some time now, no? I think this is the fourth one...) said that she really loved the earring advent calender I made for my little sister last year. 24 earrings made out of fimo (polymer clay). Due to time issues and lost nerves I didn't make 24 earrings for her this year but some and a lot of other little pink things. The colour was also difficult... 24 pink earrings...? And the whole idea and fun about her advent calender is the "pink". She is no girly but a cool and grown up woman which knows what she wants but still adores pink! Even better... she was not into pink when she was younger ^^ I hope she will like it!

The next one is for my parents with a lot of sweets (really just the ones which are really good no cheap ones...) and sometimes another handmade item. And of course last but not least every one of my siblings get an advent calender!

And hey, no matter how old we all grow, they will get an advent calender from me :) I am twelve years older than my sister and even 16 years older than my brother (Oh, this sounds really like a big difference... but the years are "melting" when we get older). So I started to make them advent calenders. One year it was something like a castle made out of cardboard, boxes and paper where for example you could look under the roof of the tower for the items.

Another year I sewed a big patchwork snake where all the little presents were cliped one. She survived for years in the garden ^^

Or I integrated boxes into a canvas. There was an "Ave Maria" poem written in arabic on it. I just love the beauty of the arabic language (yes, my sister and I learned a little bit. I am often surprised that there is still more left than I thought. Definitly have to start again!)

This years sweets for both of them, some handmade and some bought items added.

And the resolution to start earlier next year! Maybe.. in january? And no, my list is full! ;) Four advent calenders are enough for one person. Especially because there are not only sweets inside!

Inspirations: Strange places (floristic exhibition)

Come inside.

Sorry for my (far too long!) absence. Some days abroad, some pathogens, a lot of somehow missing time... and last but not least a PC and a digi which didn't want to talk to each other anymore.

We visited an exhibition of young florists which gave place to their idea for the advent / christmas season. It is a sale exhibition where all the displayed items could also after the exhibition be purchased.

I only took pictures of the things which I loved so there was a lot more traditional stuff. But also this strange and nearly magical arranged materials in a great old enviroment (even a little bit of steampunk ^^).

Take this one... a true fairy tale! If I ever have a house with garden I definitly will integrate a place like this! The red is the natural colour of the used branches! They are not painted!

The frame was dark red and words cannot describe how beautiful it really was. Look through the hole in the middle: Do you see the little red ball also made out of branches? It hangs in the trees behind the red branches! (By the way this was outside in the garden, not in the building surrounded by living trees)

And walls full with plants which created gorgeous structures! Would have them all in my garden!

And a lot things to make out of branches.. and more branches...!
