Crochet bangle...

...or bracelet? Can I use both words or is one of them better describing this little crochet thing? :)

I made this one by crocheting around a plastic ring. I got the ring as I bought a scarf. The store was closing so you got also the stuff they used for hanging up the scarfs and other stuff. It fits perfectly as a bangle :)

The crochet was made really tight so I could create the little wave like structure on the outside. It reminds me of the fin around the head of a calamar ^^

This is Grusel, one of my little black devils. Every one of my three black cats knows that they get the best effect with their shiny fur by lying on bright fabrics! 

And yes, there is an egyptian cat goddess in the background. It was a present for me, an replica from a museum :)

I made this picture with flash light so you can see the toad.

I like the results. They have a certain feeling and colours :)

And yes, on every picture is the little toad :)

And you can see how good my eye is trained to find critters even at night. All thanks to my biology studies ^^

Inspiration: Airplane (Leipzig)

I liked this one and just had to take a foto.

Later I searched for the name "D-AQUI". You know what? This is the "grande dame" of airplanes! 

She had her first flight at april 10th1936 and is a Ju 52. She was made in Dessau by Junkers and was bought by Lufthansa. Her name is next to her licence sign (D-AQUI) "Tante Ju" nowadays. Tante means aunt and Ju is the short variation of Junkers, the airplane company :) She changed her name a lot over the years. Her first name was "Fritz Simon" (Sorry... but this was not the best choice!). In july 1936 she was sold to norway and was given the name "Falken" (falcon). At the beginning of 1940 the german forces captured her and brought her back to Lufthansa. She was now known under the name "Kurt Wintgens". Five years later, in 1945  norway got her back. They thought that "Askeladden" would now be the perfect name for her. 

In 1955 she should go out of service. But being to large for a museum in oslo they sold her. She went a long way to south america. Between 1957 and 1963 she was used in ecuador. After that, being not in the best condition anymore (we all now what wind and weather can do to the soft skin of a true lady :) ), she was simply forgotten. Standing alone somewhere at the outer edge of the airport in quito. 

But she was saved six years later from a admirer of this beauty (a former military pilot: Lester Weaver). He repaired her that she could fly again but was only allowed to be something like an experimental airplane (no, I don't know what this means!) 

In 1975 Martin Caidin bought her. He repaired her and this experience went into his book "Jericho 52". Tante Ju was travelling through the USA and showed her talent on airplane shows. They named her this time "Iron Annie". Maybe you have also seen her? 

In 1984 she was bought back by Lufthansa and got the full beauty programm! Everything was restored and repaired. Therefor she could celebrate her 50th birthday in 1986 by flying! 

She is now 75 years old. Lufthansa wants to keep her flying. The grande dame shall see her 100th birthday in the air! 

I am more than a little bit astonished what for an historic airplane this was. But I loved her beauty just by seeing her :)

Fish bones stamp...

This is such a fast project, shame on me to even post it ^^

Although I normally make my own design to carve I couldn't resist when I saw this little school eraser with a fishbone... 

Just carved the outlines (and changed the end a little bit) and that was it! The rubber was perfect for carving! Softer and better than most erasers I tried so far :) I only used my lino cutting tool with the little V-shaped blade.

The weather was great in leipzig. Bright sunshine, high temperatures and a little bit of a cooling breeze... But everyone needed to drink a lot of water... this is why I catched this little bee!

(And to be honest: I am always astonished what my little digi is capable of! ^^ )

Summer.

Years ago... my old silver stuff...

For a short explanation: my uncle (the brother from my father's side) is a silver smith and his wife a gold smith. During the 9th class (school) I had to do a work experience for three weeks. My aunt had a shop and studio with another artist in a little and also one of the oldest quarter in bremen (it is called "Schnoor" ). 

I learned how to work with metal... cut, sand, solder... It made a lot of fun! This little lizard is my final piece I made during my time in her studio. My design, my work... I was soooo proud (and I still love it!). It is a hollow body made out of silver.

Oh... is this long ago... I mean, huh, I was fifteen! 

This were my first practises... (yea, I still have them all ^^)

This was a present for my 16th birthday. It was from my aunt and my grandma (from my german family part / father's side) together. My aunt made it after my design and my grandma got the stone... a gorgeous and big precious opal... (no, I don't want to now how much it cost)

You see, my love for cephalopodaes and tentacles is an old one ;)

I tried to catch the beautiful play of lights... but in reality it is more stunning and intense colours :)

To go on a family trip for some days creates the ideal situation to crochet. While sitting in the car for hours... while waiting for everybody to get ready... while just talking...

Now the progress will be slowed down a lot. Mostly I crochet being on the way or waiting somewhere... but not at home. :)
