Strange seeds.

I had some kind of cone / other kind of wooden like seed containing structure. I wanted to drill a hole into the thing to use it as a bead to create earrings. During this process it broke and out came three of these beautiful seed! They look a little bit like beans but the colour is more intense and shiny and also... doesn't the pattern remind you of an ozelot?

You see, they really shine!

Here are the last ones. I just had two of the "things" each containing three seeds.

Does anybody know which kind of seed these ones are?

Yes, I know, I studied biology... but I just had the basic study in botany... ^^

  4. Those are amazing! They really do look like ocelots! And like shiny beetles.

  5. I believe they are Castor beans (Ricinus communis), from which they make castor oil. Very pretty! Don't let anyone nibble your ears while wearing them, the beans are not good to eat.
