The blogger design / layout

To put it quite simple: I hate it.

What is even worse: They asked for our opinions about the new design months ago. I gave an answer (like a lot of other people worldwide) where I put my critics but also my suggestions about solutions in it. Yes, I really looked thouroughly through the new design, tested it, based my opinion on this first testings...

...and changed back to the old blogger layout because it was still more useful, had a better overview and I could work faster with it... (yes, all of this is subjective but this is always the way with opinion). I mean, why a drop down menue if there is enough space for little buttons? One click less...!

Okay... I don't want to repeat all what annoyed me at the new design or what I didn't found useful.

I really just wanted to say where maybe anyone of the google or blogger team might find or even read it (something not happening on their own side at least not to critics, not even to critics which they asked for):

I hate your new design!

I loved blogger. For years. Why do you want to break something which was working, google?

  1. I completely agree with you. I changed the design by accident and still did not get used to it.

    1. I tested it and thankfully... I could change back. But that possibility is over now *sniff*

  3. I think what makes the new design most unappealing to me is the difficulty in customizing it. It would probably take me days to figure out how to make the tiniest of changes. Also, there's no sidebar. Consequently all that information is hidden. There are probably ways to learn how to make changes and make the sidebar visible. But I'm not inclined to spend time scouring the net for that info. Blogger expects the blogging community to teach itself how to deal with these changes. Blogger itself is not forthcoming at all with that information. That creates an US vs THEM scenario. They're at the top making all these changes but if I, the insignificant blogger, happen to have a question, I have to wait for the community to figure it out or figure it out myself, Blogger simply won't help. I don't know if this is wise on Blogger's part.

Sorry for the rant. I guess what I'm saying is: I agree with you. :)
